The instrument used in the previous pages comprised the following components:

mini FloPro -1.5P

furnished with six position Valco valve and high flow rate Miligat pump,

configured to accommodate lab-on-valve module (A)

flow cell heater with electronic controller (B)

FloZF software, data acquisition and device control

supplied by Global FIA

Lab-on- valve

module with integrated flow cell and 600 micron quartz optical fibers encased

in 1.6mm O.D. PEEK sleeve.(C)

Holding coil heater

with electronic controller. The heater is furnished with 2 m long 0.8mm I.D. PEEK

tubing. The connecting tubing between heater and central port of LOV is only

5 cm long (volume 5 microliters). (D)

Tungsten light source, USB 4000 Spectrophotometer

supplied by Ocean Optics

Garth type flow cells ( 6cm (E) and 12cm (F) light path) were home made mainly

from Upchurch tubing and fittings.
